Among its most outstanding activities are the SalonTalks, one of which will be starred this year by Paola Castillo, Joanna Reposi and Carola Fuentes, entitled Collaboration v/s competition: the Chilean documentary landscape and its collective approach to international marketing and distribution, and it will reveal new strategies implemented by a new, mostly female, leadership whose emphasis is to connect, share information and look for alliances.

Chiledoc, the documentary sectoral brand, is in charge of this activity. In addition, along with Cinemachile they will host the Doc Lunch, a lunch event that brings together representatives and experts from the international audiovisual industry with the national directors.

Diego Pino, director of Chiledoc, emphasizes on the importance of this market and its activities: «For Chiledoc this market is very important because it is the first time that we attend as a sector brand and coincides with Chile chosen as Country in Focus, which gives account of the relevance that has acquired the national audiovisual sector and in particular the documentary, which has already been present in important categories of the festival in previous years. Being in charge of activities such as the Doc Lunch or a panel of the SalonTalks is key because it reaffirms that the Chilean documentary is a legitimate representative of the national cinematography at the level of the big spheres in marketing and distribution as EFM is.»

Documentaries at the Festival

The Berlin International Film Festival is known for premiering and exhibiting important cinematographic films, marking their presence for their themes and quality.
Agent Mole, the latest production by Maite Alberdí (The Time | The Grown Ups | I’m not from here) has just had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival (January 2020) and will be present in Berlinale with two market screenings. The film is a co-production between five countries -Chile, United States, Spain, the Netherlands and Germany- and tells the story of an older adult who infiltrates a nursing home, commanded by a secret agent who must solve a case in that place.

Entre perro y lobo is the documentary that will be part of the Forum section with five open screenings.
