Chilean cinematography is going through a great moment and<strong> we will celebrate it at the March\u00e9 du Film<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s meet in the <strong>Docs in Progress Showcase Chile<\/strong> on <strong>Sunday May 21st<\/strong>, <strong>10:00 &#8211; 11:15 AM<\/strong>, at <strong>Riviera 2<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><strong>See our catalog <a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/03\/Chile-at-Cannes-Docs-2023.pdf\">Chile at Cannes Docs 2023<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><code><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/AUFdSPecC3c\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/code><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u25cf The projects will be presented to programmers, distributors, and sales agents, among others, at the documentary space of March\u00e9 du Film at the Cannes Film Festival, the most significant film festival in the world.<br \/>\n\u25cf In The Shadow of Ligjt, El Menor, Relentless Memory, and Life are the four films at the French market.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Docs in Progress Showcase Chile<\/strong> is the name of the event that, for the third year in a row, will be taking <strong>four Chilean films in the editing or post-production stage to Cannes Docs<\/strong>, the documentary space of March\u00e9 du Film -the most relevant audiovisual market in the world-, in Cannes.<\/p>\n<p>The projects are <em><strong>In the Shadow of Light<\/strong><\/em> (Galgo Storytelling, Dos Be Producciones and Funky films), <em><strong>El Menor<\/strong><\/em> (Los Reyes del Parque), <em><strong>Relentless Memory<\/strong><\/em> (Errante and Gema Films), and <em><strong>Life<\/strong><\/em> (Lemuntu Producciones and T\u00f3tem Producciones).<\/p>\n<p>There, the delegates of these projects will present to decision-makers, festival programmers, and sales agents from all over the world, among others. Previously, two Chilean projects, among more than 32 projects from eight countries, were awarded.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, Punto de Encuentro, directed by Roberto Baeza and produced by Paulina Costa and Alfredo Garc\u00eda, won an important subtitling prize awarded by VOSTAO. Then, in 2022, Malqueridas, directed by Tana Gilbert and produced by Paola Castillo, won the Alphapanda Award for a digital marketing consultancy for the film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Paula Ossand\u00f3n<\/strong>, <strong>director of Chiledoc<\/strong>, says:<em> \u00abwe thank Cannes Docs and its director Pierre-Alexis Chevit, for the opportunity to present us again in this space so relevant for documentary filmmaking, which allows us to make visible and contact Chilean projects with key industry representatives in the world\u00bb.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The projects participating are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u25cf <strong><em>In the Shadow of Light<\/em><\/strong>, directed by Isabel Reyes and Ignacia Merino, and produced by Mar\u00eda Jos\u00e9 D\u00edaz and Efra\u00edn, a marginal teenager who becomes a worldwide freestyle battle phenomenon and must deal with his sudden fame.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" academic discovers in an unknown archive in Berlin, the testimonies of Mapuche prisoners who were expelled from their territories during the military invasions that founded Argentina and Chile.<br Antonio Caro, portrays Fresia, a young Mapuche woman who, when finding herself pregnant, has to interrupt her life in the middle of the Araucaria forests to go to medical centers and to the public
