For two weeks, nearly 250 projects are presented, bringing together 42,000 visitors and 1,600 invitations to participate in different specialized platforms within the industry.<\/p>\n<p><strong>From ProChile<\/strong>, which funds the attendance of the delegates, <strong>Ra\u00fal Vilches, Head of the Creative Economy Department, states that \u00abparticipation in DOK Leipzig strengthens the focus we have developed for promoting Chilean documentaries internationally<\/strong>; this complements the public and private efforts we undertake through the sector brand Chiledoc, yielding very significant results for the Chilean audiovisual industry.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p><strong>On the other hand, Paula Ossand\u00f3n, director of Chiledoc<\/strong>, the brand that promotes Chilean documentaries worldwide and was responsible for organizing the delegation, states: \u00ab<strong>DOK Leipzig provides special access to the European market. This year, with great pride, we can say that two Chilean projects stand out for their selection in this co-production market<\/strong>, and our country will be represented by four producers whose projects reflect the strength of national productions.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>The Chilean production companies participating in this new edition of DOK Leipzig portray local characters in different contexts, where humanity and vulnerability are the main plot of these stories.<\/p>\n<p><strong>La Ventana Cine<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The documentary miniseries <em><strong>I Don&#8217;t Want to Say Goodbye<\/strong><\/em> portrays the story of a father and a mother seeking justice after the suicide of a 16-year-old girl. A farewell letter reveals clues of school cyberbullying and the guilty parties, who refuse to go to trial and blame the family for their daughter&#8217;s depression. In 1968, she medically transforms her skin tone, becoming a black woman who immerses herself in the complex world of the Ku Klux Klan-controlled cities of Harlem and Mississippi.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fernando Fuentes, from Quijote Films, considers that \u00abattending DOK Leipzig is a logical step to start getting into how to make documentaries with a collaborative spirit.<\/strong> We are attending with a hybrid documentary project titled Texas Soul Sister, by director Pascale Lamche, co-produced with France, and which recently received funding from the Chilean Audiovisual Fund.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>Under the lens of the international collaboration model, this documentary is \u00ab<strong>a confluence of voices from France and Chile to tell a story about racism in the United States<\/strong>, which somehow finds its way to permeate our realities.
