\u00abChile and Brazil have a Film Co-Production Agreement that will allow us to strengthen networks and business between both countries,\u00bb says Paula Ossand\u00f3n, Director of Chiledoc.<\/p>\n

With the presence of its protagonist, Paulina Urrutia, The Eternal Memory, a documentary directed by Maite Alberdi, will have its Brazilian premiere at the Mostra of Sao Paulo.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Chiledoc at DocSP Catalogue<\/a><\/p>\n

For the first time, Chiledoc arrives in Brazil<\/strong> within the framework of DocSP<\/strong>, seeking to promote the Chilean documentary and establish relations for co-productions between Chile and Brazil<\/strong>. Five Chilean projects<\/strong> will be part of this market, both in-person and online activities, encouraging the reflection of new narratives in the documentary genre. <\/p>\n

Luis Gonz\u00e1lez Zaffaroni<\/strong>, Executive Director of DocSP<\/strong>, explains that \u00abthis 9th edition marks a turning point in our internationalization, with two Bilateral Co-Production Meetings, one with Chile and the other with Colombia.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Regarding the scale of the event, which this year will take place from October 24 to 29, Gonz\u00e1lez adds, \u00ab44 projects selected from Brazil, five projects from Chile, and five from Colombia will participate in the different networking activities, with over 40 representatives from the international market industry.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

From ProChile<\/strong>, Rafael Sabat<\/strong>, Sectoral Brands Manager<\/strong>, celebrates Chile’s participation in DocSP in a context where the Sectoral Brands office is celebrating its 15th anniversary. \u00abToday, more than ever, we emphasize the central characteristics of our Associativity and Diversity Program, both elements also highlighted by one of our main sectoral brands, Chiledoc.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

The Director of the ProChile’s office in Sao Paulo<\/strong>, Hugo Corales<\/strong>, points out that \u00abChiledoc arrives at Brazil aiming to seek alliances that allow us to make the most of the existing co-production agreement between Chile and Brazil and to showcase the origin and quality characteristics of Chilean productions.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Paula Ossand\u00f3n<\/strong>, Director of Chiledoc<\/strong>, explains that \u00abthe co-production agreement between Chile and Brazil represents a great opportunity to make alliances and business between both countries and benefit, for example, of the diverse financing and distribution sources available in each country, in a way, sharing a dual nationality.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

The Eternal Memory<\/em><\/strong>
\nThe candidate to represent Chile at the Goya Awards for Best Ibero-American Feature Film, The Eternal Memory<\/strong><\/em>, the award-winning documentary directed by Maite Alberdi<\/strong>, will have its Brazilian premiere at the 47th S\u00e3o Paulo International Film Festival Mostra<\/strong>, with the presence of its protagonist, Paulina Urrutia<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\nAt the same time, Urrutia will give a seminar at DocSP titled The Challenge of Acting without Representing. For Luis Gonz\u00e1lez<\/strong>, this activity \u00abwill bring cross-disciplinary discussions and provocations, creating connections between testimonial theater, documentary cinema, and the actor’s work.\u00bb<\/em><\/p>\n

Before Urrutia’s seminar, the Director of Chiledoc<\/strong>, Paula Ossand\u00f3n<\/strong>, will briefly introduce the possibilities and opportunities of co-producing with Chile<\/strong>, providing an overview of state support and financing for documentaries in our country. The objective is to promote co-production between Chile and Brazil<\/strong> in light of the existing cinematographic co-production agreement<\/strong> between the two nations.<\/p>\n

Chile-Brazil Bilateral Co-production Meeting<\/strong>
\nChile’s participation in DocSP includes online activities between five Chilean and five Brazilian production companies. From our country, the participants will be Cristi\u00e1n Hidalgo from Neurofilms; Isidora Fajardo from CUBHO Audiovisual; Daniela Camino from Mimbre Films; Miguel Soffia and Camila Maureira from We Are South; Cristian Valle from Wolf Producciones.<\/p>\n

From Neurofilms, Cristi\u00e1n Hidalgo, who will also be present in Sao Paulo, appreciates the opportunity to reach Brazil. \u00abOur project, Maestros del sonido LATAM, has co-production agreements with Mexico, Colombia and Argentina. The Brazilian territory is crucial to complete the spectrum of these Latin American luthiers,\u00bb says Hidalgo.<\/p>\n

Neurofilms<\/strong>

\nThe production company Neurofilms stands out for its constant exploration of social, historical, and educational themes, with a strong emphasis on producing in regions outside the capital. The series Maestros del sonido, directed by Pablo Stephens and produced by Cristi\u00e1n Hidalgo, portrays Latin American luthiers, people who dedicate their lives to creating and repairing musical instruments, passionate about a craft in danger of extinction.<\/p>\n

CUBHO Audiovisual<\/strong>

\nCUBHO Audiovisual comprises a team of young innovators who strive to be at the forefront of new audiovisual formats to create original and captivating works. One of their main projects is the eight-episode series Escaz\u00fa Souls, directed by Nicholas Hooper and produced by Isidora Fajardo. Through animations and dialogues with family and friends, the series seeks to resolve what was left unresolved after eight Latin American environmental activists died in suspicious circumstances.<\/p>\n

\nA company that works in three areas: film, production services, and film training workshops. They develop, produce, and distribute auteur films, both fiction and documentaries. Their current project is Artificial Clouds, directed by Josefina Buschmann and produced by Daniela Camino, in which an artificial intelligence wanders around discovering the planetary scars generated by its existence while wondering: can there be technological development without the sacrifice of ecologies and communities?<\/p>\n

We Are South<\/strong>
