He has a Master\u2019s degree in Journalism from Columbia University (2017).<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chileconecta.cl\/en\/guest\/utopia-docs\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Renato Manganello &#8211; Brazil\/Portugal<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nSpecializes in the distribution of documentaries. In 2019, he founded the international documentary sales agency Utopia Docs. His professional experience includes international film distribution with companies based in Sao Paulo, Los Angeles, and Europe.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/chileconecta.cl\/en\/guest\/sunny-side-of-the-doc-2\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jean-Jacques Peretti &#8211; France<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nEditorial Coordinator of\u00a0Sunny Side of the Doc. Studied Film and Literature in France and the US. He worked for many years in documentary production at companies such as Les Films d\u2019Ici, among others, before joining Sunny Side of the Doc in 2002. He also collaborates as an expert with various international festivals and markets.<\/p>\n<p><ins datetime=\"2024-12-19T12:05:27+00:00\"><strong>Internationalization of Chilean Documentary Films: Results and Challenges<\/strong><\/ins><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chiledoc<\/strong> presented the results of an <strong>online survey <\/strong>conducted among Chilean audiovisual companies to gather data on the <strong>internationalization and commercialization<\/strong> of national documentaries between 2022 and 2023. <\/p>\n<p>Key findings included the four countries with which <strong>Chile co-produces<\/strong> the most: <strong>France, Colombia, Germany, and Argentina.<\/strong> Additionally, the research revealed that <strong>co-productions<\/strong> <strong>generate the highest revenues,<\/strong> accounting for <strong>76.2%<\/strong> of the total. The survey also highlighted an <strong>increase<\/strong> in the <strong>fees paid<\/strong> by festivals, reflecting a <strong>greater interest in Chilean productions<\/strong>. A notable example is The Eternal Memory by Maite Alberdi, which was <strong>nominated for an Oscar and won a Goya.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00abChilean documentaries have significant international reach. There are many reasons for this, such as the quality of their narrative and artistic proposals. While the quality of Chilean documentaries has always been outstanding, today there is a new generation refreshing the scene and proposing new ideas. It is a cinema that takes risks, broadens its language, and explores new ways of storytelling,\u00bb<\/em> points out Paula Ossand\u00f3n, Chiledoc\u2019s Director.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\"
