\n\u25cf\tProduction companies C\u00e1bala Films<\/strong>, La Ventana Cine<\/strong>, and Oxitocine<\/strong> will attend this important marketplace, which showcases non-fiction content<\/strong> aimed at television and streaming platforms.
\n\u25cf\tBilateral meetings between Chilean, German, and Belgia<\/strong>n producers will be among the activities promoted by Chiledoc as part of its participation in the French market.<\/p>\n

From June 23 to 26, Sunny Side of the Doc<\/a><\/strong> will take place in La Rochelle, France\u2014a market that has, for over 30 years, offered a space for fostering co-productions, seeking funding, and distributing documentaries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This year, for the first time, three Chilean productions will be part of the market\u2019s official selection: the Chilean-German co-production Unveiling the Cosmos<\/strong><\/em> will be presented in the Science Pitch<\/strong>; The Letelier File<\/em><\/strong> in the History Pitch<\/strong>; and South Pole Explorers<\/em><\/strong> in the Nature & Environment Pitch<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Chilean delegation attending the market will include Carola Fuentes and Rafael Valdeavellano from La Ventana Cine; Gonzalo Argando\u00f1a and Diego Rojas from C\u00e1bala Films; Juan Ram\u00edrez from Oxitocine; and Paula Ossand\u00f3n and Diego Pino, director and deputy director of Chiledoc, respectively.<\/p>\n

\u201cHaving Chile represented at Sunny Side of the Doc with three projects selected for different pitches is unprecedented,\u201d says Paula Ossand\u00f3n, director of Chiledoc<\/strong>, who will also serve as a jury member for the Arts & Entertainment Pitch<\/strong> at the market. \u201cSunny Side is a crucial platform for strengthening factual content. The films and series presented showcase a wide range of content and formats, reflecting the variety of proposals emerging from Chile.\u201d<\/p>\n

Among the activities Chiledoc will promote at the French market are bilateral co-production meetings\u2014aimed at strengthening partnerships with Germany and\/or Belgium<\/strong>, specifically with the Wallonia-Brussels region. Chile will also have its own stand, where business meetings<\/strong> and networking events<\/strong> with international industry representatives will take place.<\/p>\n

Official Selections at the Sunny Side of the Doc Pitches<\/strong><\/p>\n

‘Unveiling the Cosmos’, The Rubin Observatory<\/a><\/em><\/strong>, directed by Gonzalo Argando\u00f1a and produced by Diego Rojas (C\u00e1bala Films) and Albert Salord (Bilderfest), will be presented in the Science Pitch<\/strong>. \u201cParticipating in this market is a unique opportunity to expand contacts and seek potential co-producers and international distributors,\u201d says Diego Rojas<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This feature documentary explores how, starting in the fall of 2025, the Vera C. Rubin Observatory will map the entire night sky at an unprecedented speed, capturing changes in near real-time. Researchers around the globe anticipate groundbreaking discoveries about supernovae, dark matter, and dark energy. Will this new telescope offer observations that challenge or even transform our understanding of the cosmos?<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, South Pole Explorers<\/a><\/em><\/strong> will be part of the Nature & Environment Pitch<\/strong>. This four-part documentary series, directed by Jota Loyola and produced by Juan Ram\u00edrez (Oxitocine), ventures into the South Pole\u2014the most awe-inspiring, exotic, and mysterious place on Earth. Protecting it must be humanity\u2019s top priority as we face the profound changes our world is undergoing. Following the expeditions of international explorers, the series uncovers the cutting-edge science taking place there.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a series of entertainment and adventure, but above all, of inspiration\u2014because it addresses how human ingenuity can overcome the challenges of change,\u201d says director Jota Loyola<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Letelier File<\/a><\/strong><\/em> will participate in the History Pitch<\/strong>. This four-part series, directed by Rafael Valdeavellano and Nicol\u00e1s Acu\u00f1a and produced by Mitzy Saldivia, also features Carola Fuentes (La Ventana Cine) as showrunner. \u201cAttending Sunny Side is a unique opportunity to seek co-productions in Europe,\u201d says Fuentes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
