La 10th edition of Conecta<\/strong>, the International Documentary Industry Meeting, took place from December 9 to 12<\/strong> in Santiago, Chile. The Chilean documentary sector brand, Chiledoc<\/strong>, once again supported this unique event in its category in the region, which welcomed representatives of 80 documentary projects<\/strong> from Latin America and the Caribbean and 105 documentary industry representatives<\/strong> from around the world, both in person and online. Over four days, participants connected through workshops, panels, industry sections, one-on-one meetings, and networking activities. In total, 37 countries<\/strong> from the Americas, Europe, and Asia took part in the event.<\/p>\n

\u25cf In addition to serving as host<\/strong> at the opening<\/strong> of Conecta, Chiledoc was responsible for inviting two industry representatives:
\nJulia Evangelista<\/strong> from Globoplay (Brazil)<\/strong>, and Alexandre Marionneau<\/strong> from ARTE France<\/strong> (France)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u25cf During Conecta, two workshops were held: for the first time, the Conecta con las Series –Conect with Series<\/em>– Workshop<\/strong>, in partnership with the National Television Council (CNTV)<\/strong>, guided by Sergio Nakasone<\/strong>; and the Conecta con tus Ra\u00edces –Conect with your roots<\/em>– Workshop<\/strong>, in partnership with the Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program<\/strong> and the Chilean Documentary Corporation (CCDoc)<\/strong>, with tutors Bruni Burres<\/strong> from Sundance and Paola Castillo<\/strong> from CCDoc.<\/p>\n

\u25cf The selected projects took part in networking activities and in more than 900 meetings\u2014virtual and in person\u2014with representatives of the Chilean and international industry.<\/p>\n

Pitch The Whickers<\/ins>
\nFor the fourth consecutive year, the British fund The Whickers was part of Conecta and awarded three thousand pounds sterling to one of the eight Latin American debut feature projects that were selected.<\/p>\n

Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta<\/ins>
\nIn an alliance that is now five years strong, the Santiago International Documentary Film Festival FIDOCS and Conecta carried out Docs in Progress FIDOCS + Conecta, in which six feature-length films in the editing stage were selected from Colombia, Peru, the Dominican Republic, Argentina, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Chile.<\/p>\n
