The national delegation combines premieres, screenings, and opportunities that further boost internationalization across several sections of the event.<\/p>\n<p>Chile\u2019s presence includes the <strong>world premiere<\/strong> of the Chilean-Spanish feature film <strong><em>Where the Silence is Heard<\/em><\/strong>, by the directing duo <strong>Gabriela Pena<\/strong> and <strong>Picho Garc\u00eda<\/strong>, which will be part of the <strong>Next:Wave<\/strong> section, dedicated to new voices and contemporary perspectives. <em>\u201cPremiering at a festival like CPH:DOX is a great opportunity, as we consider it one of the festivals with the greatest impact for documentary cinema. It\u2019s a space with a strong industry presence, a large and highly engaged audience. As she renovates the house and recovers memories, the film explores the impact of silence, fear, and inherited trauma on family relationships and identity, in an aesthetic narrative about memory and affection.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Picho Garc\u00eda<\/strong> also highlights:<em> \u201cIt\u2019s the first time we are attending this festival and we are very happy because we have received a very kind and welcoming reception from the professionals at CPH:DOX. The documentary follows Alejandra, a young married Mexican woman who, unable to conceive and under social and family pressure, makes the drastic decision to fake a pregnancy after secretly adopting the unborn child of another woman. Deeply emotional and full of unexpected twists, the film explores the tensions surrounding motherhood, truth, and social expectations, told through Alberdi\u2019s distinctive perspective.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/UN-HIJO-PROPIO-1024x576.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-7621\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/UN-HIJO-PROPIO-1024x576.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/UN-HIJO-PROPIO-300x169.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/UN-HIJO-PROPIO-768x432.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/UN-HIJO-PROPIO.jpeg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the industry section, the project <strong><em>Artifacts of War<\/em><\/strong>, directed by <strong>Jorge Caballero<\/strong> and produced by <strong>Anna Giralt<\/strong> and <strong>Diego Pino Anguita<\/strong> through the production companies <strong>Artefacto Films<\/strong> and <strong>CangrejoFilms<\/strong>, was selected for the <strong>Forum<\/strong>, a key space where documentary projects seek partners for co-production and international exposure. Diego Pino notes that one of their goals is to <em>\u201capproach broadcasters and funds interested in joining a work with global potential. At the same time, we are also looking for other types of partners, perhaps less conventional ones, who see in the way we present the story and the topic an opportunity to support and amplify this reflection from other fields, such as technology, visual art, or forensic research.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ADG_002-1024x576.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" class=\"alignleft size-large wp-image-7620\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ADG_002-1024x576.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ADG_002-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ADG_002-768x432.png 768w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ADG_002-1536x864.png 1536w, https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ADG_002.png 1920w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This Chilean-Spanish co-production intertwines reality and fiction within an arms fair to reflect on the complexity of non-lethal weapons and their impact on society, politics, and human rights. <em>\u201c\u2018Artifacts of War\u2019 addresses a deeply relevant issue, both from a political and an aesthetic perspective, placing particular emphasis on the role of technology. The project proposes narrative and reflective intersections around the relationship between violence, technology, and weapons,\u201d <\/em>explains the <strong>Chilean producer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, young filmmaker <strong>Ismael Valdeavellano<\/strong> was selected for <strong>DOX:Academy+<\/strong>, a program focused on training and promoting new generations of filmmakers, reinforcing the presence of emerging Chilean talent and their growing role in the development of documentary filmmaking at the international level.<em> \u201cAt 18 years old, being selected for CPH:DOX\u2019s DOX:ACADEMY+ is a unique opportunity.
