{"id":7765,"date":"2026-06-23T09:39:19","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T13:39:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/?p=7765"},"modified":"2026-06-23T09:45:59","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T13:45:59","slug":"cabala-films-and-cubho-audiovisual-to-represent-chile-at-sunny-side-of-the-doc-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/cabala-films-and-cubho-audiovisual-to-represent-chile-at-sunny-side-of-the-doc-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"C\u00e1bala Films and CUBHO Audiovisual to represent Chile at Sunny Side of the Doc 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>\u25cf Saving Patagonia and Escaz\u00fa Souls have been selected for Meet &#038; Match, Sunny Side of the Doc&#8217;s new industry format designed to connect producers with potential international partners.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>From June 23 &#8211; 26, La Rochelle, France, will host a new edition of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunnysideofthedoc.com\/\">Sunny Side of the Doc<\/a><\/strong>, one of the world&#8217;s leading international markets dedicated to documentary content for television and streaming platforms.<\/p>\n<p>This year, Chile will be represented by <strong>C\u00e1bala Films<\/strong> and <strong>CUBHO Audiovisual<\/strong>, both selected for <strong>Meet &#038; Match<\/strong>, the market&#8217;s new matchmaking format designed to facilitate tailored meetings between producers and international decision-makers, fostering opportunities for co-production, financing, distribution and international circulation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>C\u00e1bala Films to present <em>Saving Patagonia<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Chilean-Spanish production company <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cabala.media\/\">C\u00e1bala Films<\/a><\/strong> will attend Sunny Side of the Doc with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/salvando-la-patagonia\/\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/saving-patagonia\/\">Saving Patagonia<\/a><\/a><\/em>, a premium documentary series comprising four 26-minute episodes, directed by Roser Toll and currently in pre-production.<\/p>\n<p>The series explores one of the planet&#8217;s most spectacular and least explored regions, following scientific expeditions led by researchers, conservationists and park rangers across glaciers, ancient forests, steppes and remote mountain ranges. Specialising in science, nature, environmental and social impact content, the company develops international co-productions between Europe and Latin America. Its productions have been commissioned and broadcast by platforms and broadcasters including Netflix, National Geographic, ARTE and France T\u00e9l\u00e9visions, among others.<\/p>\n<p>C\u00e1bala&#8217;s participation continues a sustained presence at Sunny Side of the Doc. In 2025, its project <em>Unveiling the Cosmos<\/em> was selected for the market&#8217;s <em>Science Pitch<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cParticipating in Sunny Side of the Doc is a key opportunity for C\u00e1bala Films, particularly at a moment of international growth marked by the upcoming release of <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/melodies-of-the-amazon\/\">Melodies of the Amazon<\/a><\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/unveiling-the-cosmos-the-rubin-observatory\/\">Unveiling the Cosmos<\/a><\/em>, two documentaries co-produced with ARTE and other major international broadcasters. Having a project selected for Meet &#038; Match also allows us to strengthen partnerships, secure strategic agreements and continue positioning globally relevant stories about science, nature and heritage from Latin America,\u201d says Gonzalo Argando\u00f1a, Executive Director of C\u00e1bala Films.<\/p>\n<p><strong>CUBHO Audiovisual makes its Sunny Side of the Doc debut<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cubho.cl\/\">CUBHO Audiovisual<\/a><\/strong> will participate in Sunny Side of the Doc for the first time with <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chiledoc.cl\/en\/escazu-souls\/\">Escaz\u00fa Souls<\/a><\/em>, a six-part animated documentary series of 15-minute episodes directed by Nicholas Hooper and co-produced by CUBHO Audiovisual, Polygonal Factory, Forward Films and Leste across Chile, Spain and Brazil.<\/p>\n<p>Currently producing its pilot episode, the series investigates the lives and suspicious deaths of six Latin American environmental activists. It has also received support from Ibermedia Next and Chile&#8217;s Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs CUBHO, this is our first participation at Sunny Side of the Doc, and it comes at a crucial moment for <em>Escaz\u00fa Souls<\/em>.
