After screening at festivals, cinemas and industry events, many Chilean documentaries continue their journey through digital platforms, allowing new audiences both in Chile and abroad to discover national productions from different periods.<\/strong><\/p>\n

A documentary’s journey does not necessarily end with its premiere. Streaming and video-on-demand platforms have become another window for these productions, offering both landmark works in the history of Chilean documentary and contemporary titles with notable national and international trajectories.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Miradoc<\/a>, the distribution programme of the Chilean Documentary Corporation (CCDoc), has expanded the circulation of its releases from cinemas to online viewing. Through its website<\/a>, audiences can explore an extensive catalogue<\/a> of Chilean documentaries, purchase or rent available titles and find out where to watch them via streaming<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Chilean documentaries can currently be found on platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, MUBI and Filmin, among others, although catalogues and availability may vary depending on the country and current distribution agreements.<\/p>\n

Chilean documentaries on Netflix and Prime Video<\/strong><\/p>\n

Netflix features titles such as The Eternal Memory<\/em>, by Maite Alberdi; Mon Laferte, I Love You<\/em>, by Camila Grandi and Joanna Reposi Garibaldi; Alien Island<\/em>, by Crist\u00f3bal Valenzuela Berr\u00edos; as well as works by Patricio Guzm\u00e1n including The Pearl Button<\/em> and Nostalgia for the Light<\/em>.<\/p>\n

On Prime Video, the selection includes Oasis<\/em>, by Tamara Uribe and Felipe Morgado; Chicago Boys<\/em>, by Carola Fuentes and Rafael Valdeavellano; Robar a Rodin<\/em>, by Crist\u00f3bal Valenzuela; and Travesti Odyssey<\/em>, by Nico Videla.<\/p>\n

Some titles are available on both platforms, including The Mole Agent<\/em>, by Maite Alberdi, and The Cordillera of Dreams<\/em>, by Patricio Guzm\u00e1n.<\/p>\n

Chilean documentaries on Filmin<\/strong><\/p>\n

For audiences outside Chile, Filmin offers an extensive catalogue of Chilean documentaries, including both historical works and more recent productions.<\/p>\n

Among them are films by Patricio Guzm\u00e1n such as The Battle of Chile<\/em> trilogy, Salvador Allende<\/em> and Chile, Obstinate Memory<\/em>. The catalogue also features documentaries by Ignacio Ag\u00fcero, including One Hundred Children Waiting for a Train<\/em>, Here Is Built<\/em> and Agust\u00edn’s Newspaper<\/em>, as well as Warrior<\/em> and The City of Photographers<\/em>, by Sebasti\u00e1n Moreno.<\/p>\n

The selection also includes titles such as Beyond My Grandfather Allende<\/em>, by Marcia Tambutti; The Chilean Building<\/em>, by Macarena Aguil\u00f3; and Adriana’s Pact<\/em>, by Lissette Orozco, among others.<\/p>\n

MUBI also brings together a broad selection of Chilean documentaries from different generations. These include Tea Time<\/em>, The Grown-Ups<\/em> and The Lifeguard<\/em>, by Maite Alberdi; The Other Day<\/em> and This Is the Way I Like It II<\/em>, by Ignacio Ag\u00fcero; and Pyropolis<\/em>, by Nicol\u00e1s Molina.<\/p>\n

The catalogue also includes works by Tiziana Panizza, such as Land Alone<\/em> and 74 Square Meters<\/em>, the latter co-directed with Paola Castillo; films by Bettina Perut and Iv\u00e1n Osnovikoff, including News<\/em> and Surire<\/em>; as well as Night Shot<\/em>, by Carolina Moscoso.<\/p>\n

Another option is Ondamedia, a free public platform featuring Chilean audiovisual productions whose catalogue is available exclusively within Chile. It offers films from different genres and periods, including documentaries such as Pyropolis<\/em>, The Battle of Chile<\/em> trilogy and other national productions.<\/p>\n
