● The production, directed by Chilean filmmakers Joanna Reposi and Camila Grandi, will compete in the category “Best Long Form Music Video” at the Latin Grammy Awards. The ceremony will take place on November 13 in Las Vegas, United States.
● “This is the first time a Chilean film has been nominated in this category, and we believe we are opening a path so that other national productions also dare to apply and participate in this event, one of the most important in the music industry,” says Joanna Reposi.
The documentary Mon Laferte, I Love You, about Chilean artist Mon Laferte, directed and produced by a Chilean team—Joanna Reposi and Camila Grandi as directors, Joanna Reposi as screenwriter, and Blackstar as the production company—has been nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards in the category “Best Long Form Music Video”, alongside four other productions.
The news represents a milestone for Chilean cinema and the national documentary sector, as it is the first time in history that a film from our country has been nominated to compete at the most important awards in music and the Latin American entertainment industry. “We are opening an important path to make our film industry more visible. International media coverage is highly relevant before, during, and after the awards ceremony. Being there as a team will be very important both for us and for the Chilean industry. We believe that being nominated at this year’s Latin Grammy Awards has a high communication impact, especially with one of the Chilean artists with the greatest international projection, Mon Laferte, as the protagonist of this story,” says Joanna Reposi.
Reposi is a journalist, visual artist, documentary filmmaker, and professor at various academic institutions. In February 2019, she won the Teddy Award at the Berlinale thanks to her documentary Lemebel, about the life of Chilean artist and writer Pedro Lemebel. In 2024, she premiered via streaming the documentary Mon Laferte, I Love You, in which the artist and singer Mon Laferte offers an intimate account of her life while navigating a world tour, motherhood, and her deepest wounds.

This Thursday, November 13, in Las Vegas, the awards ceremony for this major event will take place, which has featured artists such as Shakira, Bad Bunny, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, among many others.
Mon Laferte, I Love You offers an intimate look into the life of the Chilean-Mexican singer as she faces the challenges of a world tour, the journey into motherhood, and her deepest personal wounds. The documentary is structured around two timelines: one that follows Mon Laferte on tour between 2021 and 2022, and another that looks back at her past, exploring key events that have shaped her artistic and personal trajectory. It is currently available on the Netflix platform.
