Discover the main markets, industry events and conferences where Chiledoc has been or will be present this year to strengthen the international development of Chilean documentary.
Each market and industry event plays a different role in Chiledoc’s international strategy. Some focus on co-production and financing, while others support circulation, distribution and the development of new collaborative networks. Together, they form an agenda aimed at expanding opportunities for Chilean documentary in different territories and strengthening its international presence.
«Our international presence is not only about participating in markets, but also about building long-term relationships. Maintaining a consistent presence in these spaces allows us to understand how the industry is evolving, identify new opportunities and build connections that, over time, can develop into concrete partnerships for Chilean documentary», says Paula Ossandón, Director of Chiledoc.
One example of this work took place in 2026 at Cannes Docs, which brought Chile and Colombia together in a joint showcase. According to Cannes Docs Director Pierre-Alexis Chevit, the two countries have «two very active organizations dedicated to supporting the documentary genre – Chiledoc and Proimágenes Colombia», which made bringing them together through the initiative a natural choice.
From the United States, Ina Fichman, President of the Board of Directors of the International Documentary Association (IDA), also highlighted the long-standing relationship between the two organisations: «Chiledoc represents an important voice within our global community and continues to have such a meaningful presence at Getting Real».
Throughout 2026, Chiledoc has participated or will participate in the following audiovisual and documentary industry markets, events and conferences:
● Marché du Film (France)
The world’s leading audiovisual market, held as part of the Cannes Film Festival. Through Cannes Docs, its dedicated documentary platform, it provides opportunities to build international partnerships and support documentary co-production, financing and distribution.
● Sheffield DocFest (United Kingdom)
One of the leading international festivals and markets dedicated to documentary. Its industry programme, MeetMarket, connects projects with funders, distributors, platforms, broadcasters and programmers through meetings focused on co-production and financing.
For Patrizia Mancini, Head of Industry at Sheffield DocFest, «The presence of Chilean documentary professionals and organisations such as Chiledoc at Sheffield DocFest is extremely valuable to us, both for the international diversity of our industry community and for the long-term relationships it helps us build. We greatly value this sustained and meaningful presence.»
● Getting Real (United States)
A conference organised by the International Documentary Association (IDA) that brings together the documentary community to exchange experiences, strengthen professional networks and discuss the challenges facing the industry. More than a market, it is a space for learning, networking and professional development.
● Brasil CineMundi (Brazil)

● DOK Leipzig (Germany)

For Nadja Tennstedt, Director of DOK Industry, Chiledoc’s sustained presence has helped strengthen connections between the Chilean documentary sector and the international industry:
«With its diverse, targeted and highly effective activities, Chiledoc has greatly contributed to connecting the Chilean documentary industry with international colleagues and collaborators. DOK Industry is proud to count Chiledoc among our longtime trusted partners and excited for the fresh, auteur-driven and politically engaged documentary projects — and the remarkable filmmakers — they continue to introduce us to.»
● RIDM (Canada)
One of North America’s leading documentary festivals. Its industry market, Forum RIDM, brings together professionals to support the development, financing and international circulation of documentary projects. This year, Chiledoc will participate in the event for the first time.
For Ana Alice de Morais, Director of Forum RIDM, Chiledoc’s participation opens up new opportunities to connect both territories:
«Chile has one of the most vibrant and internationally recognized documentary ecosystems in Latin America. Hosting a Chiledoc delegation at Forum RIDM is an opportunity to build stronger bridges between Latin America, Quebec and the rest of Canada, foster new collaborations and co-productions, and create meaningful opportunities for artists and their work to circulate. For us, it is also a way of recognizing the richness of Chilean documentary and bringing it into dialogue with Montreal’s own vibrant documentary community.»
● IDFA (Netherlands)
The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) is one of the world’s leading documentary festivals. Its industry market, IDFA Forum, connects projects with funds, distributors, platforms and potential co-producers.
● Conecta (Chile)
An international documentary industry event organised by the Chilean Documentary Corporation (CCDoc), bringing together professionals from Latin America and the Caribbean to strengthen the development, production, co-production, distribution and international circulation of documentaries and non-fiction content. The event provides an opportunity to discover documentary production from across the region and connect its professionals with the Chilean audiovisual community.
