Az Zeeb, directed by Rafael Guendelman, received the Special Mention of the Jury of the 2nd Chance School at one of Europe’s leading festivals dedicated to auteur cinema. Chilean participation also included the world premiere of the short film Ezkutuko materialak (Hidden Materials), a Colombia–Chile co-production co-produced by Celeste Rojas Mugica.
Chilean documentary had a strong presence at FIDMarseille 2026, one of Europe’s leading festivals dedicated to auteur and documentary cinema. In this year’s edition, the feature documentary Az Zeeb, directed by Rafael Guendelman and produced by Joaquín Echeverría, received the Special Mention of the Jury of the 2nd Chance School following its world premiere in the First Film Competition.
The award marks another milestone in the film’s international journey, which began at Cannes Docs during the Marché du Film, where it received the Doha Film Institute Award. Since then, the project has continued its development as a co-production with Al Jazeera Documentary and is set to premiere in Chile through Miradoc in 2027.

Chilean participation at the festival also included the world premiere of Ezkutuko materialak (Hidden Materials), selected for the Flash Competition. The experimental hybrid animated short is directed by Luis Esguerra Cifuentes and co-produced by Celeste Rojas Mugica as a Colombia–Chile co-production.
