After screening at festivals, cinemas and industry events, many Chilean documentaries continue their journey through digital platforms, allowing new audiences both in Chile and abroad to discover national productions from different periods.

A documentary’s journey does not necessarily end with its premiere. Streaming and video-on-demand platforms have become another window for these productions, offering both landmark works in the history of Chilean documentary and contemporary titles with notable national and international trajectories.

In recent years, Miradoc, the distribution programme of the Chilean Documentary Corporation (CCDoc), has expanded the circulation of its releases from cinemas to online viewing. Through its website, audiences can explore an extensive catalogue of Chilean documentaries, purchase or rent available titles and find out where to watch them via streaming.

Chilean documentaries can currently be found on platforms such as Netflix, Prime Video, MUBI and Filmin, among others, although catalogues and availability may vary depending on the country and current distribution agreements.

Chilean documentaries on Netflix and Prime Video

Netflix features titles such as The Eternal Memory, by Maite Alberdi; Mon Laferte, I Love You, by Camila Grandi and Joanna Reposi Garibaldi; Alien Island, by Cristóbal Valenzuela Berríos; as well as works by Patricio Guzmán including The Pearl Button and Nostalgia for the Light.
