Synopsis

He develops and imagines a world inside a darkroom. His daughter weaves a dialogue inside it: about latent, invented images. About the ways of resisting and navigating the darkness. «Una sombra oscilante» (An Oscillating Shadow) explores how the intimate and political weight of images can open spaces to reflect upon them as acts of resistance, either because they are made despite the horror of their context or because they offer an imaginary vanishing point that might just set us free.

  Rojas Mugica

  Director and Producer

  Celeste Rojas Mugica is a visual artist and filmmaker. She holds a Master’s degree in Cinematic Creation from Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. Her research focuses on the relationships between memory, violence, and territory. She works with images and archives, positioning her practice at the intersection of fiction and documentary.

  Her debut feature film, Una sombra oscilante, received support from the Hubert Bals Fund, the Audiovisual Fund (CL), and INCAA (AR). Her short films and works have been showcased at festivals such as DocLisboa, Ars Electronica, the San Sebastián Festival, and FICUNAM.

  Producer

  Florencia de Mugica is a producer and audiovisual creator. She holds a Master’s degree in Film Curation from Elías Querejeta Zine Eskola. She studied Acting at the National University of the Arts (Argentina) and later specialized in film production.

  She attended EICTV (Cuba), where she took a specialized workshop on documentary film aesthetics and approach with Marcos Pimentel. She is also a graduate of the Film Program at Torcuato Di Tella University (Argentina). She participated in Berlinale Talents Buenos Aires as part of BAFICI and was selected with her project Irán for the Talents Campus development atelier.

  At the end of 2014, she founded her own production company, Bomba Cine. As a producer, her films have been featured at prestigious festivals such as Berlinale, TIFF, the San Sebastián Festival, Mar del Plata, BAFICI, BFI London, the Valdivia Film Festival, DocLisboa, and others.
