Synopsis

One August morning, Javier’s destiny changes abruptly when he becomes the winner of Chile’s largest lottery. The press is excited to cover the news of this hard-working farmer and gambling fanatic, who becomes an unexpected millionaire. However, everything falls apart when he realizes that the winning ticket is completely destroyed. Together with his family and friends, they begin an exciting four-year odyssey to recover the prize. A journey through the idiosyncrasy of a society that has been paused in time, the Chilean countryside.

  Documentary film director and producer with 30 years of experience. He has produced more than 15 feature films, 8 series, and 50 short films. He collaborates permanently with film festivals, training forums and project evaluation committees in Mexico, North and South America and Europe.

  As an audiovisual producer, she worked on «La Divina comida» (2015-2018), «The Wall» (2017), «Lo que Callamos las Mujeres»(2015), and others. As executive producer, she worked on «Millionaire» and the series «Alfredo’s Journey». Producer of Fundación Kumelén, a cultural organization that produces content with a positive social impact.

Awards and Official Selections

The documentary «Millionaire» has received outstanding achievements in documentary film festivals and markets, consolidating its recognition in the industry. At the MiradasDoc festival in Tenerife, Spain, won the Best Documentary in Development award. This award becomes even more relevant considering that «Millionaire» competed among more than 20 projects from Latin America, Europe and Africa.

In addition to its success at MiradasDoc, the documentary has been selected to participate in different competitive instances and renowned markets, such as Docs Valencia and the prestigious Sheffield. These selections demonstrate the interest and quality of «Millionaire» in the documentary film scene.

Aiming to strengthen the project, «Millionaire» will continue to assist various film markets. We will look for co-production opportunities, strategic alliances and funding to ensure its realization and maximize its impact.
