Synopsis

A river of murky waters next to a military regiment immerses us in the labyrinthine visions of a queer filmmaker haunted by memories of a childhood trauma. In Barcelona, far from Chile and his family, he will resume a film he left unfinished to return to his mother.

    Director

    Nicolás Tabilo is an audiovisual filmmaker trained in Film and Television at the University of Chile and later in the Master in Creative Documentary at Pompeu Fabra University, Barcelona. His work is interested in crossing languages and hybrid formats to tell original and necessary stories. In his emerging career he has experimented with ways of investigating the real, mainly through editing. Some of these works have been exhibited at festivals and venues such as Cinémathèque du Centre Pompidou, IDFA, IFFR, Doc Montevideo, Jeonju, Malaga, RIDM, Lesgaicinemad, Festifreak, Antofacine, Festival de Cine Litoral, among others.

    Felipe Garrido (Santiago, 1988) is a director, screenwriter, producer and distributor. He has studied at the University of Chile and at the New York Film Academy. He produced and wrote the screenplay for the feature documentary EN TRANSITO (2017), produced the feature documentary Y SÓLO EL AMOR RESUCITA (2021) and produced, researched and wrote the screenplay for the feature documentary VOCES QUE CREAN (2022). He is currently working on LA IMAGEN QUE QUEDA, his first feature film as director

    Serge Lalou joined Les Films d’Ici in 1987. In over 25 years he has produced and co-produced more than 400 films for television and cinema. Some of his productions include Gianfranco Rosi’s Fuocoammare (Golden Bear, Berlinale 2016); Ari Folman’s Waltz with Bashir (César for Best Foreign Film 2008, Official Competition at Cannes 2008, Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film 2008); Arnaud des Pallières’ Michael Kohlhaas (Competition at Cannes 2013); or Nicolas Philibert’s Return to Normandy (Official Selection Cannes 2007) among many others.
