Synopsis

With the help of his friends, Picho coordinates via WhatsApp to get a profile picture that represents him. Meanwhile, in the family chat a crisis is experienced: the demand to be present during the vertiginous loss of autonomy of the grandfather, the patriarch of the family. Between missed calls, bombardment of images, emojis and stickers, we access the digital intimacy of a young man conflicted with the expectations of others and his own.

  Director and Producer

  Picho studied Filmmaking at the Film School of the University of Valparaíso in Chile, with studies at the National University of La Plata in Argentina. Co-founder of the production company Grieta Cine along with Gabriela Pena.
  In 2017 he was selected at Valdivia-Locarno Industry Academy, a program for emerging professionals dedicated to film distribution and programming, within the framework of FICVALDIVIA’s AUSTRALAB.
  As a producer, he has worked in several films among them ‘Zoila’ (Dir. Gabriela Pena, 2021).
  As director, he is currently developing his first documentary feature ‘Here, the Silence is Heard’ co-directed with Gabriela Pena, which has been supported through the Chilean Audiovisual Fund and internationally by the Sundance Institute Documentary Fund, Chicken&Egg Picture’s (Egg)celerator Lab Fund annual program and the Open City Documentary Festival of London’s Assembly Lab Documentary Development Fund.
  He is also co-directing with Gabriela Pena the short film ‘Familia 💖💎’. A vertical short film supported by the Chilean Audiovisual Fund currently in distribution.

  Chilean-Spanish documentary filmmaker and producer. Audiovisual Communicator of the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona. Co-founder of the production company Grieta Cine along Picho García.
  Gabriela directed ‘Zoila’ (2021), her first documentary feature film, supported by the Chilean Audiovisual Fund. It premiered nationally at SANFIC’s 2021 Chilean Feature Film Competition. Internationally at FIDBA’s 2021 Gender and Generations Competition (best film prize).
  Gabriela is currently developing her second documentary feature ‘Here, the Silence is Heard’ co-directed with Picho García. Gabriela is co-director of the short film ‘Familia 💖💎’, along with Picho García.
