Synopsis

Ignacio is currently an unemployed filmmaker. He receives a rather unconventional job proposition from his eccentric mother—to work as a salesman at the family boutique situated in the upscale seaside resort of Reñaca. Within this role, Ignacio’s responsibilities span a wide range: assisting customers, producing a promotional video, and capturing fashion photographs. Despite his best efforts, none of these tasks unfold as planned. Amidst the world of dresses, models, photo shoots, and the potential for a romantic entanglement, Ignacio discovers an unexpected opportunity to bring his cinematic aspirations to life.

  Graduated in Film Direction from the Fundación Universidad del Cine de Buenos Aires, Argentina. His professional development is focused on theoretical and practical knowledge about Screenwriting and Directing. He has carried out different film projects both in Chile and Argentina. As a director and screenwriter, he made the short film «De la vida de certas statuas» (2017) selected at the Laterale Film Festival in Cosenza, Italy. He is currently developing his debut film «Mistakes and Tries».

  Producer

  Director in Film and Television. Diploma in Cultural Mediation from the Latin American Council of Social Sciences (CLACSO). Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Chilean Film Festival FECICH, for 15 years. In charge of Mediation and Audiences at the Valparaíso Cine Recobrado International Film Festival, for more than 7 years. He currently directs the development stage of the television series «Creadores», which seeks to account for the creative processes behind the creation of Chilean video games.

  Executive Producer

  Director in Film and Television. Diploma in Audiovisual Executive Production from the Pontifical Catholic University and Cultural Mediation and Audience Development from the University of Chile. He is currently Executive Director of the Chilean Film Festival FECICH, Executive Producer of Ciudad Cultural Producciones and Director of the Digital Platform Cortometrajes.cl

Awards and Official Selections

Was selected for the Editing and Distribution Workshop, where it was mentored by Titi Viera Gallo and Paola Castillo (editor and producer of ‘Allende mi abuelo Allende,’ winner of the Golden Eye at Cannes), and at the international industry event ‘Conecta,’ both organized by the Chilean Documentary Corporation CCDoc.

It also participated in the 2022 “Encuentros Australes” of the Valdivia International Film Festival, in the ‘First Cut’ category, where he received guidance from Soledad Salfate (A Fantastic Woman, winner of the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film). Currently, it has been chosen for the ‘Final Cut’ category at the 2023 “Encuentros Australes” of the International Film Festival of Valdivia.
