«Sentinels» is the story of anctartic Life struggling to adapt to climate change. These plants and animals are fighting on the frontline of global warming, while a group of female scientists are studying them and doing research so we can try to save these ecosystems.

He teaches school in Chile and the United States. He is part of an intellectual family with a strong social vocation. After high school he travels to Rome with his parents and siblings where he studies Art History, immersing himself in Italian culture and cinema.
Back in Chile, he studied art at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (1998 -2003), specializing in video art and installations, while studying classical guitar.
He trained as a filmmaker studying film editing at the EICTV in Cuba (2006) and later studied directing at the New York Film Academy (2007).
Between 2007 and 2010 he worked as assistant to editor Soledad Salfate (Oscar 2017 for A Fantastic Woman) editing telefilms. At the same time she teaches at the Universidad de las Americas.
In 2010 Rosario founded the company Las Minas Smart Media, which focuses on gender equality and scientific dissemination. From this production house she works with her partner Gaston Chedufau who is executive producer. There she produces the popular science series: Axon, Belleza Fisica el Aperitivo, VidaConciencia. She is nominated for the Altazor awards and participates in scientific film festivals in Chile, Italy, Spain, Argentina, Czech Republic.
In 2018 she premieres the feature film El despertar de Camila at Montreal World Cinema Festival, which is later nominated for the Platinum Award for Best First Film.
In 2019 she makes the short film Ciencia Bajo Cero commissioned by Curiosity Sream and moves to Jujuy with her husband and two children, keeping the operations of her production company in Santiago de Chile.
In 2022 Rosario premieres her documentary «Centinelas» at the Festival Internacional de Cine de las Alturas, and later at the Festival de Cine del Mar (Chile) and Dok Leipzig (Germany). This work filmed entirely in Antarctica is his first production entirely made in 4K.
In 2022 he made three audiovisual awareness campaigns for the ILO (International Labor Organization) in Jujuy and Salta.
In January and February 2023 he shot the second season of his series «Belleza Física», for the Chilean channel NTV, with premiere in June 2023.
Producer
(Jujuy, ARGENTINA 1976). Graduated from the Escuela Panamericana de Arte (1999) in Buenos Aires and ORT Argentina (2000), he was certified in Multipurpose Audiovisual Production at the Institut National de L’Audiovisuel in Paris (2001).
(2001). In 2002, he received a scholarship from Ibermedia and completed a postgraduate course at the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya.
In 2001 he produced in Argentina the medium-length film «dromo», but developed his career mainly in Chile, where he produced feature films, fiction and documentary series for the companies Creative Content, Unifilms, Zona Cinema and Desso Films, with which he received national and international awards.
In 2011 he graduated in Cultural Management at the Universidad del Desarrollo and took over the production management of LAS MINAS SmartMedia, from executive director Rosario Jiménez-Gili. From there he began to dedicate himself to factual formats with a focus on scientific, historical and nature content, producing series and webseries.
He was a jury member at the Lastarria 90 Digital Film Lab in 2010 and at the University of Chile’s Young Film Festival in 2011. In 2013 he was awarded a scholarship by Discovery Channel to attend the World Congress of Science & Factual Producers (WCSFP) in Montreal. In 2017 he taught the O-Lab workshop in the city of Ovalle, CHILE, for audiovisual producers. He was part of the jury of the Academia Film Olomouc (Czech Rep.) in 2017 and was a jury member of the Science Media Awards & Summit in Boston 2018.
From 2016 to 2020 Gaston served as Coordinator of the Revolución Divulgativa Export Node (NERD), a consortium of 11 science factual content companies. He was Session Producer at the WCSFP in Tokyo in December 2019. He is a member of the Copyright Management Entity (EGEDA) and was a member of the board of APCT (Association of Film and TV Producers) of Chile from 2018 to 2020.
In 2018 he was an advisor to the Planetarium of the University of Santiago, for its Full-dome content internationalization program.
Since 2019 he is based again in his native Jujuy, from where he continues to develop his work in audiovisual management.
That same year he became a member of the recently created Chilean Film Academy and led the Platinum Award nomination campaign for the feature film EL DESPERTAR DE CAMILA during the Guadalajara International Film Festival.

He wins the Entertainment Format Pitch MIP Cancun with the project PachaMama in November 2019.
In 2020 he is called by the Las Alturas Film Festival to integrate the jury that chooses the project representing the NOA in Bolivia LAB.
That same year he inaugurates the operations of LAS MINAS PostProduction: Joint Venture with local companies for the export of postproduction services and international versioning to the international market.
In 2021 and 2022 he is hired by the Ministry of Science of Chile as evaluator of projects of the Public Science program and consulting producer of winning projects.
In 2022 he wins 2nd place in the Laboratorio de Las Alturas with the fiction project «ANNA», which also won a development fund in Chile and was one of the projects selected in Blood Window.
Gaston concludes in 2022 the Chilean-Argentine co-production CENTINELAS, by Rosario Jiménez-Gili, a documentary on climate change shot in Antarctica and premiered at the International Film Festival of the Heights.
This same year the producer closed a deal with the Chilean television station NTV for the production of the 2nd season of «Belleza Física», to premiere in 2023 and participated virtually in the Doc Montevideo market.
With extensive experience in international markets, he has attended the Marche du Film, Ventana Sur and Rio Content Market, as well as festivals such as BAFICI, Mar del Plata, Morelia, Huelva, SANFIC and Viña del Mar.
