Synopsis

Caroline, who has Mapuche ancestry on her father’s side, has lived in Patagonia for many years and is the mother of a teenager. During one of her visits she writes to her grandmother Rosa, it is the first time she sees her full name, she is confident that she does not know how to read or write, Caroline, she becomes aware and begins her search for (re)that is, her family history , which will take you to begin a journey from Patagonia to Wallmapu, Mapuche ancestral territory.

  Caroline Pavez, has taken training workshops in both Cuba and Argentina, nominated for the 2008 APES award for directing a children’s TV series «Ojo Piojo No dejes de Soñar», executive producer of the feature film «Paniri, en la ruta de un héroe». «In search of Karukinka» her documentary debut.

  She is the executive producer of the Festival Internacional de Cine Polo Sur Latinoamericano from 2007 to date. In 2022 she created her production company Karukinka Films in the city of Punta Arenas where she resides, providing services to national and foreign production companies. Karukinka Films’ main interest is urgent projects related to education, childhood, indigenous peoples and human rights. Her documentary projects, «Paniri, en la ruta de un héroe» in the editing and post-production stage and her autobiographical documentary debut, «In Search of Karukinka» is in advanced development stage, this year the has just completed the teaser to obtain co producers.
