«Becoming a man» is a unique cultural documentary series with a modern language, that seeks to rethink masculinities in contemporary Hispanic America. Through animation, graphics, and interviews, it delves into men’s roles, and the impact of a system designed for their benefit. Engaging and thought-provoking, the series examines the evolving dynamics of gender in today’s society.

  Soffia

  Director

  Miguel Soffia is a Chilean documentary filmmaker with more than a decade of experience in film, TV, and advertising. He has collaborated with Netflix, BBC, Al Jazeera, among others. Committed to the decolonization of stories, his documentaries cover topics from climate change to sociocultural conflicts on the seven continents. He was president of the Association of Independent Producers of Chile (API) between 2021-2023 and is a member of the editorial committee of the WCSFP.

  Producer

  Camila Maureira is a Chilean film, television and advertising producer with more than 11 years of experience in the audiovisual industry. Graduated in film direction and screenwriting from the University of Valparaíso, with a diploma in executive production from the Universidad del Desarrollo, she has worked as a general producer for prominent production houses and creative agencies such as Woki Toki, Wemul, Cbra Films, Vice Media and Amoralchaos.
  Since 2022, she is the general producer of We Are South.
