Synopsis

Three Chileans, a woman and two men, all from the fifth region. They embrace Islam for different reasons. They must face the prejudices and incomprehension of their families in addition to the demands of religion, but they find in their new faith, something that gives them peace. The story of Karina Rozas (39), Mother and Uber driver, Freddy Ramos (54), port worker and Nicolás Ríos (23), university student, introduce us to their daily lives and their new way of understanding life.

  Director & Producer

  Enrique Hasbún Román. Writer. Talca 1966. Studied Business Administration at the University of Biobío, Family Law at the Autonomous University and is currently in his fourth year of Film Studies at UVM. First place in the Mineduc regional theater competition in 1978. Uruguay Star of the South Award in 2019 and shared verses in 2017. Included in an anthology of Latin American poets in 2020. His books “The Lovers” (1997) – “The Rain Inside” (1999) – “A Woman’s Heart” (2005) – “From the Mirror and Other Sources” (2021) and “11 Terrible Poems and a Stab to the Heart” (2022). He directed the short film «Siempre madre» (Always Mother) (2022), which was presented at the 2023 Viña del Mar Film Festival. He also directed the documentary «La alfombra mágica» (The Magic Carpet) (2023), and the short film «La mujer del cuarto piso» (The Woman on the Fourth Floor) (2024). He lives in Viña del Mar for his studies.
