Synopsis

El Fantasma de María invites you to a séance by the character of María Tupper (1896-1965), my great-grandmother, who was a Chilean artist and spiritualist in the early 20th century.

Through family archives filmed between the years 1930 and 1950, in 8mm by my grandfather, Fernando Aguirre Tupper, in Santiago de Chile, where family and friends met to film home movies, in a playful and amateur way, the viewer is invited to an immersion, where the rite of the playful and amateur, is transformed into a phantasmagoria journey to place ourselves in a bygone era where the filmic record is renewed, the celluloid becomes the «Medium» that stages characters and rituals from another era.
