Synopsis

«Mon» is the intimate portrait of an artist who went through a harsh childhood to revolutionize Latin American music. Today, in the middle of a world tour, she is moving towards motherhood facing the deepest wounds of a story marked by abuse, deprivation and a permanent search for love.

  Camila Grandi is a 28-year-old director, with audiovisual communication studies at UNIACC, who since 2016 has made a name for herself among the most reputable directors of video clips in the country. For this reason, in her curriculum you can find works with Mon Laferte, Francisca Valenzuela, Cami, Benjamín Walker, Ana Tijoux, among others. That is to say, her signature is repeated throughout the breadth of Chilean pop. She stands out for being the first Chilean to direct an NPR «Tiny Desk» for the singer Mon Laferte in the town of Tepoztlán, Mexico.

  Reposi Garibaldi

  Director

  Joanna Reposi Garibaldi (1971). Screenwriter, director, Chilean visual artist and teacher. Master of Arts from Goldsmiths College, University of London. Her first short, «Sam & Dave» (2002) premiered at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London and was selected for the 9th Sheffield Int’l Documentary Film Festival. «Locos del Alma» (2003), her first feature film, obtained a Special Jury Mention at FIDOCS and was selected at the Crètiel Film Femme Festival, France (2005), among others. In 2017 she made the short film «Matriz» (2017) exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Santiago and at the Image and Movement Biennial of Buenos Aires (2018). «Lemebel», her second feature film, won the Teddy Award for Best Documentary at Berlinale 2019, Best Chilean Film at SANFIC 2019, and has been selected at festivals in more than 20 countries, obtaining important international recognition.
  Currently, she is working on her next documentary film «La Ultima Yegua», with the Chilean artist Francisco Casas and is a screenwriter and co-director of «Mon», a feature film in post-production.

  Filmmaker graduated from NYU (USA) with a master’s degree in documentary filmmaking. In 2010, upon his return to Chile, he created Alto Andes Films, currently renamed Blackstar, a production company that has developed a large number of content projects. Today, with a new name, new partners and offices in Mexico City and Miami, Jaime is in charge of developing the production company’s own content. His works include the creation and executive production of «Peace Peace Now Now», a series premiered on Star Plus that featured the appearance of Ester Expósito, Daniela Vega, Yalitza Aparicio and Shirley Manson; the direction of the documentary “Roads to 2010”, filmed in South Africa; and «The Journey of the Others», filmed in Palestine and Israel, and which included the participation of Benjamín Vicuña and Roger Waters.

• José Antonio

  San Miguel

  Producer

  Journalist with 9 years of experience creating television content, such as documentary series. He currently works as Director of Development and Content at Blackstar since 2020, with the aim of developing stories with a global reach. Today, he is developing more than 10 audiovisual projects. His work as Executive Producer includes «Peace Peace Now Now» and «Mon.»
