Synopsis

Angelica, a llama herder, sets out on a journey upriver to find out the source of her animals’ illness. A mining company has closed the way, but she finally decides to break the siege. When Angelica returns and is reunited with her shaman, they are kidnapped by the mining company’s guards.

  Roberto Urzúa studied cinema and specialized in directing. His work was directed towards the experimental through «Aguilas Sidereales» (2011), «Telemetria» (2014) and «El Buen Vecino» (2016). For four years he produced «Mapu Kutran» (2022), where he got closer to the Mapuche worldview, thus initiating a spiritual path that led him to be part of the culture as a «katripache», a mestizo who participates in the community. Currently working on «Yakana» that talks about the survival of the Lickan Antay culture to the extractivism of the Chilean state.

  Producer

  Daniela Cantillana is dedicated to shoe design and art direction for audiovisual productions. She was a costume designer for the video clip «Para Ti» by Pedro Piedra, the short film «Sofanor Tobar» among others. This is her first feature film as a producer.
