Synopsis

A Street Named Cuba follows four women who embody both the resilience and fragility of an island in crisis. Invisible daily violence shapes their lives but never extinguishes their dreams, as together they sustain the intimate pulse of a street and a nation.

    She studied Playwriting at the Higher Institute of Art in Cuba and Film Directing at the Escola de Mitjans Audiovisuals in Barcelona. Her short films Ellas (2012) and Lula (2013) received awards and were screened
    at numerous international festivals. Her feature-length documentary Those Who Stayed (2015) earned multiple accolades, was selected for festivals across Latin America, Europe, and Canada, and was broadcast on TV3 and Cuban television. She later co-directed Barcelonnabis
    (2015) and has written, directed, and edited several short films.

    Olivera Peña

    Producer

    Graduated in production at the Faculty of Audiovisual Communication at ISA in Havana. Attended numerous workshops at EICTV. She has produced fiction and documentary short and feature films. One of her projects as a producer is the feature film AGOSTO, had its world premiere at TIFF and its European premiere at SSIFF 2019. She is the founder of Dsafía Producciones, based in Chile and Havana.
