Synopsis

Through the story of an elderly Machi and two young Machi we will learn about their life stories, essential for the Mapuche communities, their deep relationship with medicinal herbs and how today the state laws of Chile together with private companies continue to seriously affect their work as Machi and their existence as people of the land.
The Mapuche people-nation resists.

    Directora

    Shee comes from Puerto Puyuhuapi in southern Chile, she studied Film at the University of Valparaíso.
    She has developed various audiovisual projects in the area of ​​photography, direction and editing, her passion is the documentary with the aim of showing contingent social issues. Her first documentary short film «La Mala Pesca» (2016) stands out under his direction, screenplay and editing, which has participated in 9 national festivals and various samples throughout the country, was awarded as best regional documentary at the Festival de Cine FICIL Bio-Bio and received the jury prize at the Santa María Film Festival, available on the Chilean virtual film platform Onda Media.
    Her second short film “En Búsqueda del Ser Machi” (2017), has won the national short film competition for film schools at FEMCINE 2018, as well as being the best short film at the Rengo Film Festival 2017 and the best film in the school category of the Heritage Short Film Festival of La Araucanía 2017, where it premiered.
    She is currently working on the production of the feature documentary “Inche Machi”, as a director, scriptwriter and editor.

    Rojas

    Producer

    Born in Viña del Mar, she grew up in La Serena and studied at the Film School of the University of Valparaíso, where she participated in different productions of the Faculty. She was the art director in the short film «Revolucionario de Escritorio», executive producer in the short film «En Búsqueda del Ser Machi», sound engineer in the graduation short film «Cabra Chica».
    She is currently the executive producer on the feature film “Inche Machi”.

  • Adela

    Cofré

    Producer

    Executive producer of fiction, animation, documentary genres and formats of feature films, medium-length films, short films and television series. Producer of cultural events, audiovisual consultancies. Jury at film festivals.
    She has worked as a professor of the Dramatic Structures subject of 3D Animation at the Arcos Institute. She is currently a Film professor at the University of Valparaíso, in the subjects of Executive Production, Project Development and Business Management.
