Synopsis

As Gael, a non-binary folk, watches the news of the handover of the first non-binary ID in the history of Chile, decides to get their ID changed. They will face the bureaucracy of the legal proceedings and will realize that it isn’t an official procedure but a legal subterfuge instead. The lawyer in charge tells Gael that there’s a long wait list, they must await for months to try again.

  Martín André (Chile, 2000) is a filmmaker, cinematographer, and animator. His debut as a cinematographer was with the short film «The Feast of Beasts» (2023), premiered at the Annecy International Animation Festival and selected in over 11 festivals.

  Gael Jara (Chile, 1998) is a filmmaker and audiovisual producer. Their primary interests revolve around sexual diversity and experimental narratives. They have worked at Prisma Distribución in the distribution and production team. «Quimera» is their first documentary short film.
