Synopsis

Through his window, C looks at the old neighboring house every day, and has become a witness to the brutal transforma4on of the neighborhood. One day, C’s mother suffers a stroke, which leaves her unable to speak. C writes letters to her in an attempt not to lose contact and tells her what she sees daily. This epistolary story and the destruction of the neighborhood are transformed into metaphors: its deconstruction is there, plunging into reflections and questions about the relationship with her mother and the feminine role that she never felt was her own.

  Director

  Coti Donoso (psycologist and filmmaker) has edited several Paola Castillo’s documentaries Niños del Paraíso (1998), La última Huella (2001), Genoveva (2015) and Frontera (2020). In addition, she edited Allende mi abuelo Allende (2015, winner of the Cannes Film Festival). In 2016, her debut film premiered Cuando Respiro (Best Feature Film at FESTIVER, Colombia). Her latest feature films as editor are El Disco de Piedra (Bolivia, 2022) and Bringing the voice by Klaudia Kemper (Chile 2023).

  Rocío Romero has a degree in Audiovisual Direction from the Catholic University of Chile. In Mimbre Films she has produced the films “Naomi Campbel” (CPH:DOX 2014, Best Director CinemaTropical 2015), “Las Plantas” (Best Film Award and Young Jury Award, Generation 14+ Berlinale 2016) and “Nona. If they soak me I’ll burn them” (Rotterdam IFF 2019). Today she works in the distribution of the documentary «Albertina and the dead» by César Borie and the web series «Educadores» directed by Vicente Barros (Ursus Films).
